Yellow Cab donates $2,500 to Alta Regional Center During Santa’s Day

IMG_8385General Manger Victor Caballero got to help brighten the lives of many developmentally disabled adults and kids this holiday season when he visited Alta California Regional Center during their annual “Santa’s Day.” Caballero presented Executive Director Peter Tiedemann with a check for $2,500 to help the children, adults and families Alta serves. It’s our way of giving back to the community.

Every day our professional taxi drivers transport nearly 500 developmentally disabled adults around the Sacramento Region. Through our partnership with Alta California Regional Center, we pick them up bright and early each weekday morning and take them to work or school. When their day is through, we pick them up and take them back.

Each person has their own, professional driver, so they always know they will get to their destination safely with someone they can trust.

Our drivers find helping the folks at Alta very rewarding. In fact for some, it’s the best part about driving for Yellow Cab Company of Sacramento. Cabbie Naomi Lopez says, “We help a lot of paratransit travelers, especially people who are blind. I’m really happy when I can help them.”

Alta California Regional Center assists people with developmental disabilities and their families. They have a team of supporting physicians, therapists, and other professionals for each client who work together with one single goal: helping each individual live a healthy and productive life in their own community. Their clients range in age from infants and their families to the elderly, and their partnerships support each person in creating an individual, lifelong plan for assistance and care.

We are honored to be a part of helping to make life easier for those in our community.
